Genital warts
Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are small growths or bumps that appear on or around the genital or anal area.
They are usually painless but may cause itching or discomfort. They are passed by skin-to-skin contact, so it’s possible to catch them without having penetrative sex.
Genital warts can be diagnosed by examination of the infected area. Many treatments are available and usually involve creams or freezing treatments.
