C-Scheme
If you’re aged between 13 and 24 you can sign up for the C-Scheme. The scheme gives you access to a choice of free condoms (different sizes, flavours and textures), dams and lube. You can access the service however you identify and whatever your sexual orientation. It doesn't matter whether you’re having sex, thinking about having sex or if you’re just curious
Condoms are the only type of contraception that can both prevent pregnancy and protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Always use condoms that are within their used-by date, have the BSI kite mark and the CE mark on the packet. This means they've been tested to high safety standards.
Check out our 'How to put on a condom' video and the 'Pufferfish Talk Condoms' for some top tips.
If you are new to the scheme you may need to register either online via the condom by post service or through your school nurse/ local community group, where you’ll also be able to receive free and confidential advice. No one will tell you what to do or even that you’re right or wrong about anything – they will only offer information to help you make your own decisions.
During the current COVID-19 pandemic we are offering C-Scheme via our Condoms by post service, as most community venues are currently closed. As the services start to reopen, please look out for the C-Scheme logo in our sexual health clinics, school, college or in community settings, where you will be able to collect free condoms and lube.
The condom by post service is free and confidential, and the condoms arrive in discreet packaging that fits through a standard letterbox.
I’m 13 - 15 years old, how can I access the C-Scheme?
If you are 13 to 15, one of our sexual health promotion practitioners will call you for a chat - we will require a mobile or land line telephone number before we are able to process your order.
You have the same rights to confidentiality as an adult. This means that we won't tell your parents/carers or anyone else without your permission.
The only time we would tell another professional what you had told us, is if we were seriously concerned about your safety or welfare. We would discuss this with you first and give you all the support you need.
