Anyone who’s sexually active can benefit from sex therapy, no matter their age, sexuality or gender.
If you are having difficulties in your sex life or relationships, talking to a trained therapist can help. This is sometimes called psychosexual counselling. It is not just for couples. Many people go to sex therapy sessions on their own.
Problems are more common than you might think, so try not to feel embarrassed about asking for help.
During your sex therapy sessions, you will work with a therapist to work through your problems. These might include:
- loss of desire
- issues with porn
- sex addiction
- pain during sex
- issues with ejaculation
- problems getting or keeping an erection
- sexual fears or phobias
- trouble reaching orgasm
It can help just to talk about your problems. Your therapist can also give you practical advice. Your therapy sessions are confidential.
